CJAE Collaborative History

The Central Jersey Aviation Education Collaborative (CJAEC) was formed as a continuation of the Garrett A. Morgan Technology and Transportation Education Program Grant (GAMTTEP) (click here for the history of the grant). The Garrett A. Morgan Grant began on September 21, 2010 and concluded on September 17, 2011 with the STEM Path Aviation Forum event it was a year long initiative to foster education and spark the interest of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math through the ‘lens of aviation’. Programs in the grant includes two “Take Flight” Workshops, two week-long aviation education camps, airport tours, an internship, creation of the Aviation Club, and many more.

Since the conclusion of the grant, it was clear that just ending these programs was not the right decision as they all were very successful. CJAEC was formed to take the place of GAMTTEP so that these programs could continue and grow.
